The Ibigawa Marathon is a half marathon held in Ibigawa Town, Gifu Prefecture, on an officially certified road course that begins in front of the Ibi Police Station and ends at Ibigawa Town Hall. Runners cover 21.0975km on paved roads through the town, with the crowds along the way a big part of the day. The race has a 3 hour limit, with checkpoint gates at 8.4km (1 hour 15 minutes) and 18km (2 hours 35 minutes). Race day reception runs from 6:30 to 8:30 near the Ibigawa Town Community Exchange Center, with a single mass start at 9:30. Race numbers, timing tags and participant gifts are mailed out in early November, so there is no on-site bib collection.

The entry fee is 8,000 yen, which is the price with a participation gift. Choosing no participation gift reduces the fee by 500 yen, and runners aged 25 or under get a further 500 yen discount for the first 300 places. Adding a nickname bib costs 500 yen more. The fee covers chip timing, drinks, baggage storage, insurance and a web finisher certificate, and finishers within the time limit receive a towel.
The race guide, participation gift, athletic bib and timing tag are mailed to entrants in early November, before race day. There is no need to collect your bib on site.
There are separate JAAF-registered and general categories. If you enter the JAAF-registered category, register your 2026 JAAF details in your RUNNET member profile first. Entrants in areas where the JAAF registration number has been replaced by a JAAF ID should enter their JAAF ID, and those whose regional association issues no number should enter 'no number'. If your registration is still being processed, enter 'pending' and update your profile once it is complete.
The half marathon is open to men and women aged 15 and over (middle school students cannot enter) who can complete the distance within 2 hours 45 minutes.
Every entrant chooses a participation gift of a T-shirt, about 2 go of Ibi rice, or an Ibi specialty product. Runners who finish within the time limit also receive a finisher towel, and a web finisher certificate is issued with gross time as the official record.
