The Gig Harbor Turkey Trot takes place on Thanksgiving morning, setting off at 8 AM from Judson St in Gig Harbor, Washington. Runners and walkers cover a 5 km road and path route on a chip-timed bib, which means the clock only starts when you cross the line, so a slower walk to the start costs nothing. Packet and T-shirt collection happens the day before at the Tom Taylor YMCA, or from 7 AM at the start line on race day. Participants are asked to bring two cans of food, which go to BackPack for Kids, the FISH Food Bank and scholarships for local college students. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
