Hitachi Seaside Marathon 2026 [Hitachi Citizens / Hitachi Sakura Road Race Participants Category] - 42.195km

Entry here is limited to people who live in Hitachi City, which excludes people who only commute to or study in the city, and to runners who entered the 26th Hitachi Sakura Road Race. Family and group entries must be made by a Hitachi resident or by the same representative who filed the Sakura Road Race entry. Entries from anyone else are invalid.

Priority entry for Hitachi City residents and 26th Hitachi Sakura Road Race participants runs from 00:00 on 5 April 2026 to 23:59 on 12 April 2026. General entry and the separate benefit entry open on 13 April 2026 and run until 31 August 2026. Places close early if the 6,000 runner field fills.

The 10,000 yen full marathon entry includes an original event T-shirt, an original towel for every starter, a finisher medal, a web finish certificate, free shuttle buses, drinks and local speciality produce, free tickets to city tourist facilities and access to a recovery stretch area on race day.

Yes. There are three benefits. Hitachi seafood costs an extra 3,000 yen and is shipped after your entry is confirmed. Original event goods cost an extra 2,000 yen and an original race bib fastener is free. Both of the latter are sent with your pre-race pack. Full details are on the official event website.

Local sights include Kamine Zoo, the Hitachi Civic Centre, the Hitachi Osakana Centre roadside station, Iwaki Shrine and Izumi Shrine. Local specialities include Oomika manju, Momiya pumpkin, apples, grapes, Kujihama shirasu, local sake such as Fukushin and Daikan, miso pudding, Motor Monaka and Gold Natto.
