Runners set off from and return to Sannomaru Plaza in the grounds of Himeji Castle, following paved city streets through the historic castle town with the World Heritage castle rising overhead for much of the way. Five distances are on offer, from 5km down to a 1km family pair race for a pre-school child aged four to six and an accompanying adult. There is no race day check-in: bibs and race information are posted out in mid-February 2027, the opening ceremony is at 9:00 and the earliest start is 9:30, with each division's time confirmed shortly before the event. Finishers receive a towel on the day and a web-issued record certificate if they finish inside the time limit.

Entry runs from 10:00 on 1 October 2026 until 23:59 on 8 January 2027. Entries close early if the field fills before the deadline.
No. There is no race day check-in. Athlete bibs and race information are posted to entrants in mid-February 2027, so you can come straight to the venue.
Every finisher is given a finisher towel on the day. Runners who finish within the time limit also receive a record certificate issued online.
Runners with a disability who would find it difficult to run alone may be accompanied by one guide runner as a rule. Guide dogs cannot be used and runners must arrange their own guide runner.
The 1km family race is for a pair made up of one pre-school child aged four to six and one adult aged 18 or over. Entry should be made in the name of the parent who will take part.
