The High Coast Winter Trail takes place in Docksta in Västernorrland, on the coast of Sweden's High Coast (Höga Kusten) region, on Saturday 13 February 2027. Six distances are offered on the day, from 13 km through 17 km, 26 km, 31 km and 36 km up to 50 km, and each one carries its own name: Twin Peaks, Three Peaks, Classic, Classic XL, Extreme and Insane. The running is on winter trails, with snow and ice underfoot and cold Nordic weather, so the day rewards runners who are comfortable moving on slippery, uneven ground. The route and full practical information are published by the organiser on highcoastwintertrail.com.

Other questions
This is a winter trail event, so expect snow, packed snow and sections of ice rather than groomed paths. The courses run through the High Coast terrain around Docksta, which mixes forest tracks with rocky, rolling ground.
February in the High Coast usually means snow on the ground and cold temperatures, but conditions vary from year to year. The organiser confirms the current course conditions in the days before the race.
Shoes with good grip are the sensible choice for snow and ice. Many runners use trail shoes with aggressive lugs, and some add studs or a traction device when the course is icy.
The High Coast, or Höga Kusten, is the stretch of coastline in Västernorrland where the land rises steeply straight out of the Baltic Sea. It is a UNESCO World Heritage area and gives the race its name and its backdrop.
