The 50 km race is run as ten absolutely flat 5 km laps around the Hardtsee lake, with refreshments waiting after every completed lap. The whole loop stays inside the Freizeitzentrum Hardtsee, so there are no road crossings and no contact with public traffic. It is Germany's 50 km road championship race for 2027 and an IAU Silver Label ultramarathon.
