Overview

The 5k and 10k share a closed road out and back course that starts and finishes in the heart of Guildford on the High Street, heading out towards Clandon along the Epsom Road before turning back for the run into town. The ground underfoot is tarmac the whole way and the roads roll over a few undulations, with traffic kept off the route for the morning. A 2k junior race follows the senior starts, so the whole family can run on the same day. Runners collect water, post race snacks and a medal at the finish in the event village, with chip timing and free official photographs included.

Before you enter

Minimum ageThe minimum age for the 10k is 15. Younger runners can take part in the 2k junior race.

HeadphonesThe course is run on closed roads with marshals and other runners close by. Keep one ear open to hear instructions, and follow any guidance given in the final race instructions.

Time limitYes. There is a 90 minute cut off on the 5k and 10k, with the course closing at 09:30 because the roads have to reopen to traffic.

Other questions

There is a secure bag drop inside the Guildhall. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, so tear it off and attach it to your bag before handing it in. Show your number when you collect it afterwards. Bring as little as possible.

Spectators are very welcome. The High Street is the place to be, as you can watch both the start and the finish from the event village.

The route is run on closed town and suburban roads and rolls over a number of undulations on the way out towards Clandon and back, so expect some ups and downs rather than a completely flat course.
