Check-in is expected to take place at or near Mullaghbuoy Community Centre, where parking is located. You will usually collect your race number and any timing chip, and may need to show ID or your entry confirmation. Exact check-in times and procedures will be in the final race instructions.
The Glenmore Challenge Running Festival includes a marathon, half marathon, 10 mile, 10 km and 5 km, so starts are likely to be staggered or divided into distance-specific waves. Longer races often start earlier, with shorter distances later in the morning. Because the course uses mixed terrain and may share sections, follow marshal instructions and line up in the correct area. There may also be cut-off times for the marathon and half marathon. Check the final timetable for exact start waves.
Every finisher receives a commemorative medal, and there are post-race refreshments at the finish area. The event also has cash prizes and trophies for the leading men and women, plus age-category and team awards. Expect a lively finish area near Mullaghbuoy Community Centre with water, snacks and a chance to recover. If you are in contention for a prize, stay for the prize giving. Exact refreshments and prize-giving time will be confirmed closer to the event.
There is expected to be medical cover at the start/finish area and possibly mobile first aid or patrols on the course. Marshals will be stationed at key points, and the route will be marked. In an emergency, alert the nearest marshal, call 112 or 999, and give your exact location using course markers or a location app. Follow any mandatory kit requirements and listen to pre-race safety briefings. If you have a medical condition, write it on the back of your race number and carry any necessary medication.
