Genova Trail runs from the sea to the mountains, leaving the caruggi and creuze of the historic centre before climbing past the Palazzi dei Rolli and the old Genoese fortifications towards the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri. Three routes let runners choose between a first taste of the trails and a full mountain marathon. The ground shifts from paved city streets and cobbled lanes to rough, stony mountain paths. Chip timing, a finisher medal, race photography and aid points on the course are part of the day.

Other questions
The next edition is listed for 2 May 2027. The date is shown as provisional and will be confirmed by the organiser.
The Petit Trail 10K is the shortest and least demanding option, with 600 m of climbing, and it is the natural first step for runners moving from road to trail.
The route leaves the historic centre through the city's caruggi and creuze and then climbs onto rough trails above Genoa, so expect a mix of paved city streets and technical, stony paths.
No mandatory kit is listed by the organiser. On the rocky trails above the city, grippy trail shoes are the usual choice for the 20K and the 45K.
The start is in the city centre and the early kilometres stay inside Genoa, so friends and family can follow runners from the streets before the course heads up into the mountains.
