The race starts in front of the Fukuhara Arinobu Ground Tateyama, the city's civic sports field, and finishes at the baseball stadium on the same site. The full marathon covers 42.195 km of a nature-rich course that changes character along the way, running through the Tateyama area of southern Chiba Prefecture. Three distances share the day: the full marathon, a 10 km race and a 2 km family fun run. Race numbers and timing chips are posted to entrants before the event, so there is no registration desk on the morning itself, and finishers download a WEB record certificate afterwards. Participants are greeted with drinks, bananas and a special cream bread, with a paid baggage service and an on-site shop at the venue.
