The Green Ribbon Running Festival is held at Komazawa Olympic Park in Setagaya, Tokyo, on a course of roughly 2.5 km per lap that runs through the greenery of the park, with both the start and the finish inside the Olympic stadium. Runners choose between a 42.195 km team relay, a half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, 2.5 km and a family run, and the day is built around the Green Ribbon campaign for organ transplant awareness, bringing together transplant recipients, runners with disabilities and runners without. Registration opens at 8:00 and closes fifteen minutes before each start, balloon ceremonies are planned for 9:00 and 11:10, and kids' booths and food trucks run alongside the racing.
