Frohnleitner Crosslauf is an off-road cross country race held in Frohnleiten, a small town in the Mur valley of Styria, Austria. The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday 8 November and the main race covers 9 kilometres of cross country ground rather than tarmac. Runners are classified separately as men and women and then split into U23, senior age bands from 23 to 60, and a set of youth and hobby classes, with a short course also on offer for younger and less experienced competitors. The event is staged by the TriRun Team Frohnleiten, and entries, start lists and results are handled through the ergebnisliste.at timing platform.

This is a Crosslauf, which means cross country, so you race off road rather than on tarmac. Expect grass, meadow and forest track underfoot, and plan your footwear for that rather than for a road race.
Cross country or trail shoes give the best grip on grass and forest paths, and many runners use cross country spikes when the ground is soft. Studded road shoes are a reasonable compromise if you do not own either.
The men's and women's 9 kilometre races are split into U23 and a 23 to 60 age band, and there are further classes for U18, U20, U14 and U16 runners, a 65 to 85 band and a hobby class. A short course, listed as Kurz, is also available for women and men. The organiser confirms which class you belong in when you enter.
