Forth Ultra

The Forth Ultra is a 44 mile (71 km) circular ultramarathon around the Firth of Forth estuary, starting and finishing at Helix Park in Falkirk, home to The Kelpies. Runners follow a way-marked course that requires no navigation, connecting two major Scottish trails — the Fife Coastal Path and the John Muir Way — and crossing two iconic bridges over the estuary. The ground underfoot is mixed, with roughly 85% on tarmac or hard paths and 15% on trails, and the full route climbs around 530 m (1,739 ft). Four checkpoints stocked with water and snacks support participants, and an 11 hour time limit applies. Entry is open to solo runners, pairs and relay teams of four, with chip timing across the four relay stages; finishers receive a medal and a race t-shirt, and the event carries a UTMB Index.
