Flatrock 50K, Half and 50/50 Challenge sends runners through Harbins Park in Dacula, Georgia on mixed-use trails that roll gently through the woods, with roots, rocks and holes demanding attention underfoot and a few short stretches of pavement along the way. Most of the day happens beneath tree cover, and a single central aid station stocked with electrolyte mix and typical ultra fare appears every six to seven miles. The route is flagged pink on the 5.71 mile pink loop and blue on the 7 mile blue loop, and arrows and directional signage back it up, though runners are still expected to know the map. All distances start together at 8:00 AM from the pavilion beside the main entrance, with packet pickup in the half hour beforehand, and the day is built around a simple, old-school trail racing feel with low prices and flexible options.

Packet pickup runs from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM at the pavilion by the start and finish at Harbins Park. Bring your photo ID. This is the only time to collect your bib and check in, and no swag will be mailed afterwards.
It is one of the three race options on offer at Flatrock alongside the 50K and the Half Marathon, and it carries a 9 hour cutoff. Full details of how the challenge works are set out in the runner handbook.
The route uses mixed-use trails with rolling hills. It is not technical by most standards, but you still need to watch your footing for roots, rocks and holes, and there are a few short stretches of pavement. The majority of the race runs under tree cover.
Expect temperatures from the mid 60s down to the high 40s. Cell service is generally available but can be spotty in some areas of the park.
Every runner receives a commemorative item, which changes each year between a buff, a hat or socks. Hoodies and other swag can be pre-purchased, and any leftovers are sold after the race. Swag is not mailed out.
