The European Running Championships 2027 brings four championship races to the streets of central Belgrade across the weekend of 17 and 18 April 2027. The programme opens on Saturday morning with the European Half Marathon Championships and the Half Marathon Relay, returns in the evening for the European 10K Championships, and closes on Sunday morning with the European Marathon Championships. All of the racing takes place on road through the centre of the city, with courses that pass city landmarks, rivers, bridges and urban neighbourhoods. Recreational runners line up during the same championship weekend as elite European athletes, and the event is delivered locally by Belgrade Marathon and the Serbian Athletic Federation, with European Athletics as the championship rights holder.

Recreational runners take part during the same championship weekend as elite European athletes. The championship races sit at the top of the programme, and everyday runners are able to share the courses and the weekend with them.
The event listing does not state qualifying standards. Championship places for national teams are normally allocated by member federations, while open places for recreational runners are usually released separately. Confirm the requirements with the organisers or your national federation before planning your entry.
Saturday 17 April opens with the European Half Marathon Championships and the Half Marathon Relay at 09:00, followed by the European 10K Championships at 18:00. Sunday 18 April is given over to the European Marathon Championships, starting at 08:00.
All of the racing takes place on road in central Belgrade. The routes pass city landmarks, rivers, bridges and urban neighbourhoods, which makes for a fast, city-centre course with plenty of sightseeing along the way.
Belgrade is served by an international airport with direct flights from many European cities, and it is also reachable by train and long-distance bus from neighbouring countries. Once in the city, the central race area is walkable from most downtown hotels, and public transport covers the wider city.
