Runners cover 12.4 km inside the Julia & Alexander N. Diomedes Botanic Garden in Chaidari, completing four laps of a 3,100 m circuit that climbs and descends around 115 m each time. The ground is mostly forest road with a section of rocky path, and the start and finish sit 150 m to the left of the garden main entrance. Because the event carries an environmental theme, no plastic water bottles are handed out, so every runner carries their own hydration and refills at the stations at 3.1 km, 6.2 km, 9.3 km and the finish. Electronic timing and full medical cover are provided, and the day ends with awards for the leading man and woman overall plus a commemorative medal for everyone finishing inside the time limit. The race is open to Armed Forces and security-forces personnel and to civilian men and women aged 18 and over, all running under their own medical responsibility.
