Other questions
The route is a mix of west coast rainforest trails and gravel service roads. Runners meet roots, rocks and mud in places, but there is also a good amount of smooth, runnable trail.
Yes. Both the start and the finish are at White Pine Beach at Belcarra Regional Park near Port Moody, which makes it straightforward for supporters and for leaving kit in the car.
April on the British Columbia coast is typically cool and changeable, with a real chance of rain. Expect wet, muddy sections of trail and dress for damp conditions.
Winning times in recent years have sat between roughly 3 hours 50 minutes and 5 hours for the men and around 4 hours 45 minutes to 5 hours 30 minutes for the women. Mid-pack and back-of-pack runners take considerably longer.
The distance is a full 50K on technical forest trail, but start and finish share one accessible location and the course mixes runnable gravel roads with the rougher singletrack. Runners new to the distance should be comfortable on rooty, muddy trails before signing up.
