Sankt Michael in Obersteiermark hosts the sixth round of the STLV and KLV CrossCup 2026/27 on Saturday 16 January 2027, a winter cross-country meeting in the Leoben district of Styria. Runners pick between an 8 km and a 10 km course that runs over meadow, farm track and woodland around the village. The ground underfoot depends entirely on the weather in the days before the race, ranging from frozen and fast to soft mud or fresh snow. The day is part of the season-long CrossCup series, so results feed into the overall standings, and all entry details and results are published through the series website.

Yes. It is the sixth round of the STLV and KLV CrossCup 2026/27. Information on the other rounds, the rules and the overall standings is published at crosslaufcup.gknet.at.
It is a cross-country course over meadow, farm track and woodland. In mid January the surface may be frozen and firm, soft and muddy, or covered in snow, depending on the weather in the preceding days.
Cross spikes or a trail shoe with a good grip are the usual choice. Spikes help on hard or frozen ground, while a deeper tread is better in snow or mud.
Mid January in Upper Styria is usually cold, with a real chance of snow or ice. Bring several layers, gloves and a dry change of clothes for after the race.
