The Cross os Castros Cangas is a November cross-country meeting held in Foz, on the Galician coast, and it brings together both adult and youth racing on the same day. Adults choose between a 13 kilometre andaina and a 6 kilometre cross absoluto, while the youngest athletes compete across a ladder of school-age categories from Pícaros and Prebenxamín up through Benxamín, Alevín, Cadete and Infantil. Racing takes place over natural cross-country ground, which in Galicia in mid November usually means grass, earth and a fair amount of mud depending on the weather in the preceding weeks. It is a local, club-centred fixture rather than a large city race, so the atmosphere is close to the athletes and the programme moves quickly through the categories. Entries and final race-day timings are handled through the organiser's Sportmaniacs page.

Other questions
An andaina is a popular walking and running event common in Galicia. It is usually a mass participation outing on marked paths rather than a hard competitive race, which makes it a good option for people who want a long morning out on their feet.
Yes. Local cross-country meetings are open to spectators and the compact courses usually mean you can see your runner several times without moving far.
