Cross Internacional de la Constitución - Aranda de Duero - 5K

The race is held on Saturday 24 October 2026 in Aranda de Duero, a town in the province of Burgos in the Castilla y León region of Spain. The venue sits alongside Aranda de Duero's other running events, so the town is easy to find and reach by road.

Cross country is run over natural ground rather than closed asphalt. Expect a mix of grass, dirt tracks and firmer packed sections, with tighter turns and possibly a short climb or two. Times are usually slower than on the road, and the racing is often more tactical.

For a 5 km cross country race, trail shoes or a road shoe with decent grip work well for most runners. Studded cross country spikes are only worth considering if the ground is wet and you are used to racing in them. Bring a spare pair of shoes and socks for afterwards.

Yes. Cross country courses are usually compact and looped, which makes them easy to watch, and at an international meeting there are often several races on the programme across the day. Spectators can generally move between viewing spots without needing transport.

Cross country racing goes ahead in most conditions, and mud and rain are part of the sport. Only severe weather or a safety issue would force a change. Any last-minute decision is announced by the organiser through their event page and social channels.
