The Course Rose is a charity run and walk through the streets of Andilly, a small commune in the Val-d'Oise department of the Île-de-France region to the north of Paris. It takes place under the banner of Octobre Rose, the national breast cancer awareness campaign, and entry fees are collected for La Ligue contre le Cancer, Comité du Val-d'Oise. Three ways to take part are offered on the day, a run, a walk and a children's category, so families, walkers and first-time participants line up alongside club runners. The course follows the town's roads and lanes on a single October morning, and the mood is deliberately social rather than competitive, with plenty of pink on display from start to finish.
