The Course des Cascades de l'Alloix takes place in Saint-Vincent-de-Mercuze, a village at the foot of the Chartreuse massif in the Isère. Runners choose between a 40 km, a 20 km and a 10 km course, and a non-timed randonnée is offered for walkers. The routes climb into the wooded slopes above the Grésivaudan valley, where the Alloix stream drops through a series of waterfalls, so expect sustained climbing, rocky and root-covered trail underfoot and technical descents. The event runs on a single day, Sunday 30 May 2027, with the longer distances setting off first.

Other questions
The event is scheduled for Sunday 30 May 2027 in Saint-Vincent-de-Mercuze, in the Isère department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.
The courses climb from the village into the wooded slopes of the Chartreuse massif, following the Alloix stream past its waterfalls. Expect forest trail with rocks, roots and sustained climbs, and technical descents when the ground is wet.
Grippy trail shoes are strongly advised, particularly for the 40 km and 20 km where the ground is uneven and can be muddy. Road shoes are workable on the 10 km but offer less protection underfoot.
Yes. The village start and finish area is easy for spectators, and short walks along the lower trails lead to viewpoints near the waterfalls. Spectators should follow any signage about closed or sensitive sections of the course.
Courses are marked by the organiser with tape and signage at junctions, and marshals are placed at key points. Carrying the route on a watch or phone is still a sensible backup on the longer distance.
