Plan to arrive early to pick up your race bib and timing chip, if you haven't already, and to use the restrooms. There will be a race village with baggage drop and announcements. Do a light warm-up jog to get muscles ready, and since it's December, stay in warm clothing until just before the start to avoid getting cold.

Typically, the half marathon starts first, followed by the shorter distances, possibly in separate waves or with a short interval between them. The exact start schedule will be posted on the event website and in the pre-race email. Be sure to know your race's start time and line up in the correct corral or area.

The race village typically includes baggage drop, portaloos, and information desks. Since chip timing is included, there will be a timing booth. There may also be refreshment stands and a results board. Spectators can use the same facilities and find good viewpoints along the course.

The course is on closed roads and will be clearly marked with directional signs, cones, and barriers. Marshals will be positioned at turns and intersections to guide you. Look for kilometer markers and turn indicators. The half marathon, 13K, and 7K courses may split at certain points, so follow the signs for your specific distance.

Follow a structured half marathon training plan that gradually increases your long run distance over 10-12 weeks. The course is on road, likely flat as it's in the Emilia-Romagna plain, so incorporate tempo runs and steady-paced long runs to build endurance. Since it's a December race, practice running in cold conditions to become comfortable with layering and hydration. Hills are unlikely to be a major factor, but do include some variation if possible.
