The Oeiras Trail starts and finishes at the Fábrica da Pólvora in Barcarena, on the western edge of the Lisbon region, and follows paths and trails through some of the most beautiful landscapes of the Barcarena area. Runners choose between a hilly 20 km long trail and a 10 km short trail, both run as a single loop over a mix of single track, grass, mud, riverside stretches and quiet residential streets. The 10 km distance can also be walked, so the morning welcomes athletes, nature lovers and anyone simply wanting a day outdoors. Along the way participants pass through the natural and cultural heritage of the Oeiras municipality, in an event that mixes competition with sharing and camaraderie.
