The Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon follows a beautiful stretch of The Ridgeway National Trail between Coombe Hill in Wendover and Whiteleaf Hill near Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire. The route is entirely off road, climbing and dropping along the ridgeline through beech woodland and open chalk grassland, with a loop of the Chiltern Society's Whiteleaf Hill Nature Reserve in the middle. Runners set off from Wendover at 10:00 and return to the same town, covering 21.1 km and 526 metres of ascent over an undulating out and back course. With a four hour cut-off and an age limit of 17, the day is designed around strong, steady trail running on uneven ground.
