The Charley Clayton Peep Festival Memorial Walk is a springtime celebration of uniqueness, self-expression and community, held on the campus of Fairmont State University in Fairmont, West Virginia. The day opens with a not-so-typical 5K run and walk at 9:00 AM, where participants are invited to dash, dance or strut their way around the course with the emphasis firmly on enjoyment rather than finish times. A one mile Memorial Walk follows on the Friday evening of the later April occurrences. Entrants are encouraged to dust off their wildest and most vibrant gear, from tutus and neon to funny ears, and anyone pre-registered by 16 March receives a commemorative t-shirt and goes into the running for awards such as fastest participant and best dressed.
