The Chanoko Trail Runs return in 2027 with three distances on the trails around Folsom Lake. The 31K covers a point to point route that begins at Auburn Overlook Park and finishes on the sand at Granite Beach, supported by six aid stations stocked with cold water, FLUID electrolyte drink, energy gels, sweet and salty snacks, Vaseline and first aid. The 10K and 5K stay close to Granite Beach, where they start and finish at 8:00 am, making them an easy introduction to trail racing. Every finisher earns a Chanoko medal, the 31K adds a custom long sleeve hoodie, and all runners come back to post race food at the beach. Overall male and female champions in each race take home special awards, with age group awards presented three deep.

All finishers in the 31K, 10K and 5K receive a Chanoko finisher medal. Finishers at the 31K also receive a custom finishers long sleeve hoodie. Goody bags and t-shirts are available at the finish before and after the race.
Athletes who sign up during race week will have their finisher apparel mailed to them, and it may not be available after the race.
The Race for FREE Athlete Volunteer Program gives you the chance to get involved with TBF Racing multi sport events and earn a $50 TBF Racing volunteer voucher towards entry fees at any of their events that year. Each volunteer shift is four hours. Reserve a position by emailing [email protected], as shifts fill up quickly.
The page does not describe the terrain or elevation in detail, but the 31K is fully supported with six aid stations carrying water, electrolyte drink, gels and snacks, and there is a shuttle so you do not need to organise your own transport to the start. That support makes it a manageable step up in distance for trail runners who have trained for the time on feet.
