Carrock Fell is a short, steep fell race run from Calebreck Farm at Hesket Newmarket in the northern Lake District, covering 9 km and 500 m of climbing across open fell. Underfoot is rough, unmarked hill ground, and the FRA listing asks runners for experience, local knowledge and navigation skills. Entry is taken on the day only, with a modest fee for members and non-members alike, which gives the race the feel of a friendly local club outing. The race starts at 11:00 and the fastest runners complete the course in well under an hour.

No. Non-members are welcome and pay the slightly higher entry fee of 7.00 pounds. Members pay 5.00 pounds.
They are the FRA skill requirements for this race: ER stands for experience required, LK for local knowledge and NS for navigational skills. In practice this means you should be a competent fell runner who can find their way around the course.
Yes. The race holds an FRA permit with associated UK Athletics insurance, so your entry is covered by the standard fell running arrangements.
