The Carrera Solidaria por la Diabetes en Sevilla is staged on the Isla de la Cartuja, the low, flat island of parkland and wide boulevards between the Guadalquivir and the former Expo 92 grounds. Adults run 5 kilometres and children have their own race on the same morning. The event is a charity run in support of people living with diabetes, so the morning pairs a short accessible race with a community fundraising atmosphere. The ground underfoot is paved and level throughout, making it an easy introduction for newer runners.
