The Carrera de Navidad Zancadas Solidarias is a Christmas charity run held in Hoyo de Manzanares, a small town in the north-west of the Comunidad de Madrid. The main event covers 11 kilometres on a course laid out through and around the town, and a separate children's race gives younger runners their own moment on the start line. It is the fourteenth edition of the race, and the festive date gives the morning a relaxed, community feel with local clubs, families and neighbours turning out together. Full details of the route, timetable and entry process are published by the organising club on their own website as race day approaches.

Yes. The word solidarias in the event name signals that it is a charity race, and any proceeds go to a social cause chosen by the organisers. Contact the club for details of this year's beneficiary.
The 11 kilometre route runs through and around the town of Hoyo de Manzanares, on a mixture of town streets and the roads at the edge of the village. It is a moderate distance rather than a technical course, and it suits runners of most abilities.
Mid-December mornings in the Madrid sierra are cold, often close to freezing at the start, with a chance of rain. Dress in layers you can shed once you warm up and consider a hat and gloves.
