Other questions
Expect a required check-in before the start where you’ll show ID, collect your bib or timing chip, and possibly have mandatory gear checked. Since the event is on tribal land, you may also receive cultural or land-access instructions. Arrive early, allow time for parking and trail briefing, and follow all directions from Red Road Racing staff and volunteers.
The 50K typically starts in waves or as a mass start after a pre-race briefing. You’ll follow marked trail to the finish, where you check in, return your timing chip if required, and collect any finisher item. Because the course is on tribal lands, stay on the marked route, respect closures, and do not cut switchbacks or enter restricted areas.
Wear trail running shoes with good grip for rocky, dusty, and possibly sandy terrain. Dress in layers for wide temperature swings: hot sun, cool mornings or evenings, and little shade. Use a breathable hat, sunscreen, anti-chafe products, and a hydration vest. Avoid cotton; choose moisture-wicking fabrics and test everything on training runs.
