The Brisbane Marathon Festival brings a full day of city running to Queensland's capital, with the marathon, half marathon, 10 km, 5 km, 2 km and a 5 km walk all setting off from George Street in the City Centre. The route sweeps through the city's most recognisable places, passing the Story Bridge, South Bank and the Kangaroo Point Cliffs with the Brisbane River alongside much of the way, before runners finish in the City Botanic Gardens. Entertainment lines the course and a post-race celebration waits at the finish, giving the day a relaxed, community feel that suits first-timers and seasoned marathoners alike. Every entry includes chip timing, a finisher medal, an event t-shirt, drink and nutrition stations, medical support and bag drop, with pace groups and expo entry part of the package.

Other questions
The festival is built to suit a wide range of runners. The 2 km and 5 km options are the gentlest introduction and welcome walkers as well as runners, while the 10 km, half marathon and marathon suit those with more training behind them.
Yes. Pacers form part of the entry package, so runners looking to hit a target time can settle in behind a group and let someone else do the clock watching.
Drink stations and nutrition stations are positioned along the route, with medical assistance on hand and toilets available. Bag drop is provided at the event so you can leave belongings while you run.
Expo entry is included with every entry. It is the usual place to pick up race packs and to browse event merchandise before race day.
The Story Bridge, South Bank, the Kangaroo Point Cliffs and the City Botanic Gardens finish area all give spectators a good view of the runners. Brisbane's riverside paths make it easy to move between vantage points on foot.
