The Backyard Ultra runs from a central event camp at Chilton Manor Farm in Chilton Candover, Hampshire, using private trails shaped by local wildlife. Each loop of roughly 6.7 km mixes single-track, field edges, farm tracks and forest paths. The route climbs to Bugmore Hill Trig Point, then passes sunset views over the Hampshire countryside before a short woodland stretch through Godsfield Copse returns runners to base. The profile is generally undulating with noticeable hills, and some single-track sections can create overtaking bottlenecks.
