Bleasdale Circle by VÅGA - 5 miles / 8 km

Bleasdale Circle is a 5 mile fell race of around 8 km with 1,250 ft (381 m) of ascent that starts and finishes at Bleasdale Parish Hall in the Bowland fells. Runners cross roughly 1,500 metres of often muddy farmland past Bleasdale Circle, climb gradually on farm track to the fell gate, then tackle a steep rough climb to Paddy's Pole and a rolling traverse to Parlick. The return drops steeply over grass, hidden rocks and reeds before rejoining farm tracks and fields past Blindhurst Farm for the last 2 km back to the hall. The ground underfoot is farmland, farm track and open fell, and the 500 metre high point is exposed to strong winds, sub-zero temperatures, frozen ground, snow or ice. The race is run under FRA rules with a minimum age of 18, mandatory kit checked at registration, a 55 minute cut-off at Paddy's Pole and very limited parking that is best shared.
