The 12K covers about 12 km with roughly 464 ft of ascent and joins the Pilgrims Trail near Deacons Hill. The 22K adds the climb up the South Downs Way to Cheesefoot Head, a circular loop over Fawley Down towards Morestead, and about 1,040 ft of ascent in total.
The organisers list the event as beginner-friendly and suited to average fitness, and the course is fully signed from start to finish. That said, both routes are run at night on uneven ground, so some off-road experience and a good head torch help.
Yes, secure bag storage is provided at the venue, alongside an event village at the track.
The course is marked and both distances share sections, so running in a small group at a steady pace works well at night. Check the current entry terms when you sign up for any rules on paced or assisted running.
