Overview

After a move to Verrebroek the previous year, the Besox Havenwereld Run & Walk returns to Kallo for 2026, the village that opens its port gates to the public once a year. From the village centre, participants are within minutes in the reed beds at the edge of one of Europe's largest ports, where nature reserve, polder landscape and port industry sit closer together than anywhere else in Belgium. The event takes place on Sunday 8 November 2026, when the running and walking calendar is winding down and the polder is at its best. Every distance, 8, 12 or 21 km, can be run or walked through the Rietveld and past Fort Sint-Marie. Kallo is a short hop from Antwerp, Sint-Niklaas and Ghent, yet the stretch of nature in the middle of the port remains unknown to many.

What you get

Finisher t-shirtIf you ordered a T-shirt you receive a T-shirt voucher together with your race number (run) or wristband (walk) and can collect your shirt at the 't-shirts' stand. Note: indicating the desired size at registration is purely informative and is no guarantee that this size is still available when you collect your T-shirt. The earlier you collect your T-shirt, the more chance the desired size is still available.

Race photosYes, photos are published on the event's photo page after race day.

On the day

ParkingSufficient parking is provided; more info will follow later. Ample bicycle parking is provided at the event site.

Public transportKallo sits a short distance from Antwerp, Sint-Niklaas and Ghent, so it is easy to reach by car or public transport.

Water on courseYes. No disposable cups are available at the aid stations, so every participant must bring their own cup or drinking bottle/camelbak. A foldable silicone cup can be bought on the day for € 3 (available at the helpdesk).

Before you enter

DogsNo. Following negative advice from the Agency for Nature and Forests and Natuurpunt, dogs are not allowed in the vulnerable nature reserves through which most of the course runs. Your four-legged friend is welcomed with open arms at the Besox Nature Trail Knokke-Heist and the Besox Mijnentocht, where they get a goodie bag and aid station.

Collecting your numberAnyone who registered receives a confirmation email with an e-ticket. With this e-ticket you can collect your bib in the registration zone on Sunday 8 November from 8:00. Not received an e-ticket? Check the spam folder of your mailbox. If you registered as part of a group, you cannot collect your bib personally but must go to the group leader, who collects and distributes the bibs for the whole group.
