Distance
Terrain
Runners race over a cross country course on the Broughton Castle estate in Oxfordshire, with junior and senior championship races spread across the day. The ground underfoot is grass parkland typical of a county cross country fixture, and the distances step up through the age groups from 2 km for the under-12s to roughly 7.8 km for under-20, senior and veteran athletes. Chip timing is used, barcoded race bibs are issued on race day, and medals and trophies are presented at the castle gatehouse. Team scoring counts the first three finishers home for most races, while the under-20, senior and veteran men's race scores from the first six. Entry is open to athletes who are first claim members of a club based in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire and who are registered and paid with England Athletics.

Most races score from the first three finishers of a club. The under-20, senior and veteran men's race is different and scores from a club's first six finishers home.
No. The under-12 races are not official championship races, but medals and team trophies are still awarded for them.
The association's own website at bbocca.uk carries the latest details on the fixture, and runners should always confirm race day arrangements there before travelling.
