The Bell Challenge is a lap based running and walking event on a tarmac out and back course along an old disused railway line at Littleham, on the edge of Exmouth. Each lap measures 5.3k and brings participants back to race HQ, where a nut free aid station with squash, water and coke stays open and the baggage area can be visited between laps. Participants have seven hours to reach the finish of their final lap and set their own distance, and everyone who completes one lap, four laps or more than fourteen laps is treated as a finisher and receives a bespoke medal. The route is accurately measured and classified as road, with gentle inclines and declines and occasional glimpses of the sea.
