Bedgebury Forest 10 and 5 Mile sends runners along rolling trails and tracks beneath the towering pines of Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest in Kent. The ground underfoot is a mix of forest trail and track, and the winter timing means some sections can be quite muddy. Both races start and finish inside the Pinetum, which keeps the route free of vehicles, although runners share the paths with other forest users and cyclists at crossing points. The 10 mile route is two laps of the forest circuit and the 5 mile route is a single lap, with a short junior race also on the programme. It is a relaxed, scenic forest day out that works well as spring marathon preparation.

The route follows a mix of forest trails and tracks under the pines, with rolling ground and some areas that can be quite muddy in February. Trail shoes with decent grip are the sensible choice.
Road shoes will get you round, but the muddy and mixed sections of Bedgebury Forest make trail shoes a much more comfortable and safer option, particularly on the 10 mile route.
Yes. Bedgebury Forest remains open to other forest users and cyclists who cross the race paths, so runners should stay alert and follow marshal instructions at crossing points.
It is. The organisers highlight the event as ideal for spring marathon preparation, with the 10 mile distance fitting neatly into a February training block and the forest trails adding useful strength work.
