Two laps of a roughly 23 mile circuit around the Brecon Beacons, with an extra out and back climb to the summit of Pen y Fan added on the first loop only. The route mixes trail, mountain, canal towpath and road, and it is staged in mid November when the weather can swing from sunshine to minus 8 degrees with rain and mist.
