The Back to the Future 88 MPH Dash brings a full morning of themed running to Canoga Park in Los Angeles, with a 5K, a 10K and a half marathon all setting off at 7:00 AM on 18 October 2025. The day is built around the film trilogy, so runners hear time-travelling music out on the course and find plenty of photo stops to mark the occasion. Fancy dress is welcomed rather than discouraged, and puffer vests and lab coats are both fair game on the start line. A virtual option, the Multiverse Flux Capacitor Challenge, lets runners join in from anywhere at any time. The event returns on 17 October 2026.

The event takes place on Saturday 18 October 2025, with a further edition scheduled for Saturday 17 October 2026. All of the in-person distances start at 7:00 AM.
Yes. The Multiverse Flux Capacitor Challenge is a virtual option that lets runners complete their distance from anywhere and at any time.
Costumes are not required, but they are very welcome. Puffer vests, lab coats and other film-inspired outfits are encouraged as long as you can run comfortably in them.
