Overview

The B&A Trail Marathon and Half Marathon is one of the Annapolis Striders' signature spring races, with both distances setting off at 7:30 AM on Sunday 7 March 2027. It is staged by the Annapolis Striders, a running club founded in 1978 that puts on a year-round programme of road and trail events across Anne Arundel County and the wider Annapolis area. Registration is handled online through RunSignup, and entries for the 2027 edition are already open. The practical side

Terrain

Asphalt rails-to-trails bike and running path; there is only one significant hill on the course.

Route

The course will run approximately two miles on residential streets with the remainder on the B&A Trail.

Sunday 7 March 2027. Marathon and Half Marathon both start at 7:30 AM.

On the day

Merchandise

ParkingParking is available in the school parking lots and in street parking in neighborhoods adjacent to the school. Volunteers will direct traffic on race day.

Bag dropThere is no bag drop. Leave valuables in your car. You may leave warm-up/cool-down clothes in the school cafeteria.

Aid stationsHalf marathon: two aid stations, each passed twice: B&A Trail at Jones Station Rd (approx mile 2.9 southbound / 10.9 northbound) and Arnold Rd (approx mile 5.5 southbound / 8.7 northbound). · Marathon: same two aid stations plus four marathon-only aid stations: Robinson Rd (approx mile 13 northbound / 25.5 southbound), Earleigh Heights Rd (approx mile 14.3 northbound / 23.7 southbound), Jumpers Hole Rd (approx mile 16.5 northbound / 21.9 southbound), and Aquahart Rd (approx mile 19). · All aid stations have water and Gatorade; marathon-only aid stations also have gel packets, Vaseline, and band aids. · Porta pots at Jones Station Rd, Jumpers Hole, and Aquahart Rd aid stations; restrooms behind the ranger station at Earleigh Heights Rd (approx mile 14.3 northbound / 23.7 southbound).

Before you enter

RefundsNo refunds, no deferrals, no exceptions.

TransfersNo bib transfers. Race changes between Marathon and Half Marathon are allowed via RunSignup until March 3, 2027, or at packet pickup; there is no refund for race changes.

Bad weatherIf conditions are icy or snowy resulting in unsafe conditions, the race will be canceled and announced on the race page and the Annapolis Striders Facebook page.

Minimum ageRunners must be at least 13 years old on race day for the half marathon and at least 16 years old on race day for the marathon.

HeadphonesNo headphones; no strollers; no animals that are not service animals. If you need ear buds, only wear one.
