The Turkey Trot 10K follows the Ayr promenade beach front, heading toward Doonfoot over the Millennium Bridge and continuing up to Greenan Castle, which acts as the turn point, before returning along the same route to finish on the beach promenade near the harbour. The ground underfoot is road and promenade tarmac, and the route is fully marshalled with first aid and medical cover on hand. Race numbers and timing chips are collected in person at the Cutty-Sark Centre on Ayr High Street, and it is roughly a 600 m walk from there to the start area beside the Citadel Leisure Centre. Online entry closes at midnight on 19 December 2026, and a small prize giving for the leading overall and female runners takes place after the race.
