The Ardèche Trail La Voie Romaine follows the paths once used by Caesar's legions through the hills and chestnut groves around Désaignes in the Ardèche. Racing opens on Friday with the short Tours des Vignes and continues on Saturday with hikers' routes and three trail races up to 61 km and 2,500 m of climbing. The longest runners come home late into the night, and the whole village turns out with food trucks, a buvette, a pasta party, a spit-roast beef dinner and concerts across the weekend. More than 300 volunteers look after the field, and the event has been staged since 1996.

No. The event is cashless. A wristband issued at the entrances is used to pay for the buvette and food trucks, and it also acts as your ticket in and out of the concert evenings.
Yes. Les Randonnées de Désaignes offers three distances of 9, 13 and 23 km on the Saturday.
A pasta party, food trucks, a buvette, spit-roast beef and a country buffet are laid on, with dance evenings and concerts on both Friday and Saturday.
A refund must be requested from your cashless account during the period announced by the organisers after the event. Wristband activation costs 1 euro.
