The Aare Trail is a demanding point-to-point trail that runs from Brugg to Aarau through the Aargau Jura. Runners follow forest paths with varied climbs, gaining around 2100 metres over the full 51 kilometres. The route passes over the highest point of the canton of Aargau, rewarding effort with impressive views across the region. The race is part of the wider Aare Lauf / Aare Trail weekend, which also includes a 30 km trail, a half marathon, a two-person half marathon relay, a 10 km run and a 10 km Nordic walking event.

The race is not eligible for the German ultra ranking and does not carry an IAU label.
As a participant, you can name a helper for the event day through your participant profile or by emailing [email protected]. After the helper has completed their shift, you receive a 50% thank-you voucher for a future Aare Lauf or Aare Trail start. Terms are available in the Bring a Helper participation conditions.
