8th Mountain Running "On the Paths of Donoussa" - 9km

The 9km race starts and finishes at Stavros harbour on Donoussa, a small island in the South Aegean. The route climbs with the 20km race to the Papas summit at 385m, then turns south below the second peak, Vardia, and rejoins the long course near the village of Messaria. Most of the ground underfoot is single-track trail, with a short stretch of dirt road and asphalt, and the distance carries about half the climbing of the 20km race. The field is capped at 50 runners for this distance, with a waiting list once it fills, and runners must carry their own cup or bottle because no disposable cups are offered at the aid stations.
