61st Tsuchiura Marathon

No. The event does not hold a participant reception. Number cards, timing chips and other items are posted to entrants in advance, and participants at Tsuchiura city primary and junior high schools receive theirs through their school. Please gather at the assembly point at least 10 minutes before your race starts.

Entries run from 0:00 on 1 September 2026 to 23:59 on 19 October 2026, with an organising office deadline of 20 October 2026 for postal entries, which must arrive by that date. The 5km and the 1km parent and child pair cost 3,000 yen, while the 3km, 2km and individual 1km cost 2,000 yen.

The parent and child pair entry must be made in the name of the adult who will run, and that person must be 18 or over.

For the 3km, there is a separate boys' and girls' team competition in which each team has at least five members and the finishing places are decided by adding together the times of the five fastest runners. During the entry process you are asked whether you wish to take part and for your team name. Teams are identified by team name, so please enter it consistently, keeping the same characters, case and width so that team members are recognised as one team.

Everyone receives a participation T-shirt, with one each for the members of a parent and child pair, and every finisher receives a certificate showing their time and placing. Interim results are posted for the top 50 places only.
