Other questions
No qualifying standard is listed for the race, and the DUV entry does not record any qualifying requirement. The distance and the climbing still make it a serious undertaking, so previous ultra or long trail experience is sensible preparation. Confirm any experience expectations with the organiser before entering.
Recent editions have been won in around 12 to 13.5 hours by the leading men, with the winning women's times between roughly 17.5 and 20.5 hours. Most of the field takes considerably longer and finishes through the night or on the Sunday morning, well inside the 28 hour limit.
Oslo is easy to reach by train, bus and air, with Oslo Airport Gardermoen as the main gateway. From the airport or the city centre you can continue by local train, tram or bus towards the trail areas. Allow extra time on the Friday for travel and kit checks.
Most runners base themselves in Oslo or in the suburbs closest to the start, which keeps the trip to the start line short on Saturday morning. Book early, since late September is still a busy period in the city, and check with the organiser if you need somewhere close to the finish for a Sunday arrival.
Late September in the Oslo area is autumn: cool, often wet and with early darkness. Overnight temperatures can drop close to freezing on the higher ground, so plan for rain, mud and a long, cold night. Any organiser-specific weather or cancellation policy is published by Langt og Lenge.
