The race takes place entirely inside Kyuhoji Ryokuchi Park, one of Osaka's four great green spaces and roughly ten times the size of Koshien Stadium. The park is divided into three zones, the East, Central and North areas, and the bridges that connect them are the toughest part of the route. The morning belongs to the 30km, half marathon, 10km and 5km races, while the afternoon turns over to children's distances and a parent and child relay. Everything starts and finishes at the park athletics stadium. Places are allocated first come, first served, so each distance closes as soon as it fills.
