The race sets off from the Trophy of Leuktra, the monument that marks the 371 BC battle between Thebes and Sparta, about 1.5 km outside the village. From there the field rolls along paved rural roads through Leuktra, Kaparelli, Melissochori, Loutoufi and Tachi before descending into Thiva. The 21.5 km route is chip timed, has five aid stations and medical cover, and finishes at Thiva Central Square. Buses carry runners from the square to the start between 08:00 and 08:30, and organisers move personal belongings from the start to the finish for collection afterwards. An awards ceremony follows at 12:30 at the square.

Registration closes on 25 September 2026, so it is worth entering early rather than leaving it to race week.
Both entries include electronic timing, aid stations, medical coverage, race photos, a light meal and a finisher medal. The Basic entry comes with a technical cap, while the Enhanced entry adds a technical t-shirt.
The organisers transport personal belongings from the start area to the finish at Thiva Central Square, so you can collect your bag after you cross the line.
The route is run entirely on paved roads between villages, with a moderate and largely rolling profile, five aid stations and chip timing. It suits runners who are comfortable with the half marathon distance on road.
